This yearβs theme, "Celebrating Young Artists," is dedicated to showcasing the creativity and talent of middle and high school students throughout the countyπ©βπ¨π¨βπ¨. The exhibit rooms will feature artwork submitted by students in grades 7β12.
The event program is set to include:
π¨Hands-on, multimedia art workshops designed for kids and families.
π¨The unveiling of the Mural Map for Santa Cruz County.
π¨The annual Art Ambassador Awards presentation.
The entire community is warmly invited to attend this celebration of the arts and the incredible work of local studentsβ€οΈ.

Attendance is a big dealβit helps you learn your swamp-math and dragon-slaying skills. But even the mightiest hero sometimes needs a rest. If your little one is feeling a bit "off their onion," here's a guide straight from Far Far Away to help you decide if it's a school day or a stay-at-home-with-Puss-in-Booots-day.
π§ Send 'Em to the Swamp (School) If...
Just a little fairy-tale sniffle won't stop a true hero! It's okay to send your child if they only have mild symptoms, like:
- A runny nose or a little cough, but no other symptoms.
-A mild stomach ache.
-They haven't thrown up overnight and can keep drinking their potions (liquids).
-A mild rash with no other symptoms.
-Eye drainage that is without fever, pain, or eyelid redness.
-They have not had a fever overnight and have not taken fever-reducing medicine.
π° Keep 'Em at the Castle (Home) If...
If your child is feeling more cursed than charming, keep them home to rest and prevent infecting the whole kingdom. They must stay home if:
-They have a temperature higher than 100.4 F.
-They have thrown up two or more times in the past 24 hours.
-Their stool is watery and they might not make it to the bathroom in time.
π Seek the Fairy Godmother (Medical Care) If...
If things get truly scaryβlike facing a fire-breathing dragonβit's time to call a medical professional immediately. Seek medical care if they have:
-A temperature higher than 100.4 F and any of the following: ear pain, sore throat, rash, stomachache, headache, or tooth pain.
-Stomach pain and fever, or have bloody or black stool, or are dehydrated.
-A persistent cough or trouble breathing, or have a fever with the cough.
- Eye swelling, eye pain, or an eye injury.
- A rash that has blisters, is draining, is painful, or looks like bruises, and/or they have a fever with the rash.
If you ever feel lost in the woods, contact your child's healthcare provider, a local urgent care, or our amazing school nurse. Let's make sure our little heroes get to school for their happily ever afterπ!
