Absenteeism is a lost opportunity to learn. We canβt afford to think of absenteeism as merely a lack of compliance with school rules. http://bit.ly/1oqfID7β¨#HereTodayReadyforTomorrow #NUSD1 #ExcellenceKnowsNoBorders

Attention all swamp dwellers! Today, we've hit an ogre-sized attendance of 96%! As a reward for being present today, anyone who was here today can come to school without their uniform tomorrowπ. Let's keep this going the rest of the week! Every day counts!

When a student misses so many days, they are chronically absent (10% or more days), which means the lack of engagement in learning is an ongoing problem that needs to be addressed http://bit.ly/1oqfID7 #HereTodayReadyforTomorrow #NUSD1 #ExcellenceKnowsNoBorders

Gather 'round, and listen up! On September 17th, we celebrate Constitution Day. It's the day our nation's rulebook was signed, making sure everyone, from ogres to donkeys, has a voice and knows their rights. It's a day to remember that our freedoms are like the layers of an onionβthere's a lot to 'em!

Congratulations to our 2025-2026 Student Council Officersπ₯³!

We are almost half way through the month of September, let's have amazing attendance for the rest of it. Remember, every day counts βοΈ!
Why Attendance Matters
Research consistently shows a strong link between attendance and academic successπ. Students who miss school frequently, especially in the early grades, are more likely to struggle with reading and other core subjects. This can have long-lasting consequences for their educational journey in middle school and highschoolπ«.
When to Keep Your Child Home
Please refer to the attached flyers for guidance on when your child should stay home due to illnessπ€.
Let's work together to ensure that our students are in class, ready to learn and growπ!
-
