Per Arizona Revised Statutes § 15-242.01 (Arizona Healthy Schools Act), all treats shared at public schools during the regular school day must be free from 11 specific ultra-processed additives and synthetic dyes (like Red 40, Yellow 5, Blue 1, and titanium dioxide).
Need quick, store-bought, pre-packaged snack ideas that comply? Here you go! 👇
🍿 Packaged Snacks: Sea salt popcorn, pretzels, string cheese, or dye-free crackers
🧃 Pouches & Juice: 100% unsweetened fruit pouches or 100% juice boxes
🛑 Avoid: Store-bought frosted cupcakes, brightly colored candies (Skittles, M&M's), Takis/Doritos, and sports drinks.
