The NUSD #1 Spelling Bee highlighted the amazing talent of our elementary and middle school students! After an impressive 19 rounds, the competition came down to three outstanding spellers, and we proudly celebrated a champion, a runner-up, and a third-place winner. We are incredibly proud of all our students. 👏🏼👏🏼 🏆 Champion: Santiago Huerta, 5th grade 🥈 Runner-Up: Sebastian Julian Guzman, 3rd grade.

2026 Future Chefs National Challenge.

Students in grades 3–5 are invited to submit their recipes using the QR code on the flyer or by completing a recipe card, which can be picked up from the elementary school lunch clerks. The deadline for recipe submissions is Friday, February 13, 2026.

One lucky winner from each elementary school will be selected as a finalist to compete at Nogales High School on March 4, 2026.
