• Dear Challenger Elementary Families,

The City of Nogales has earmarked funding to improve the field in the rear of Challenger Elementary, where the track is located.  The improvements to the field will include solar-powered, motion-activated lights that will run on a timer and be placed 25ft above the ground. There would be approximately 14 lights installed around the field to provide adequate lighting for the track, playground area, and basketball court. There is also a proposed shaded ADA-compliant playground structure that would be installed near the basketball courts.

We ask that you please complete the survey at the following link: https://forms.gle/n8mubX3qmdLg85yz8

If you have any questions or concerns, please contact Ms. Christina Valdez, principal of Challenger Elementary School, at (520) 397-7551 or email chvaldez@nusd.k12.az.us

    Thank you,

    Christina Valdez

    Challenger Elementary School Principal

Welcome to Challenger Elementary School

  • Welcome to Challenger Elementary School Home of the Rockets!! We are located just north of the Mexico border in beautiful southern Arizona. Our school was named in honor of the Challenger space shuttle that carried Christa McAuliffe, who would have been the first teacher in space. The country was devastated and heartbroken when the space shuttle blew up within seconds after liftoff.  The space shuttle was the first reusable manned spacecraft.
Here at Challenger, we encourage our students to do everything with PRIDE!
    - Positive attitude
    - Responsible
    I-  Important individual
    D- Dignity
    E- Excellence
