NHS teacher earns Teacher Excellence Award

Mr. Ganesh Tiwari selected as the  Tucson Values Teachers,  Teacher Excellence Award recipient

Nogales High School science teacher Ganesh Tiwari was selected by the Teachers Values Teachers organization for the Teacher Excellence Award on the first day of Teacher appreciation Week May 3, 2021.

NHS student Adrian Velazquez-Martinez who sent in a video about Tiwari, who joined NHS in 2013. NHS Principal Tim Colgate said Velazquez was in Tiwari;s class last school year.

“Adrian said in his video that he remembers the lessons taught and the caring and compassion that Mr. Tiwari brings every day to the classroom,” Colgate said.

Tiwari was recognized with a surprise visit from the organization to his classroom by Teachers Values Teachers Chairman Andy Heinemann and Director of Development Terresa Tauzin.
