Free and Reduced School Lunch
Beginning with the 2013-14 school year, all Nogales Unified School District students will be able to receive free lunch.
“If everyone can eat for free there will be no distinction of who is eating and who is not,” Supt. Steve Zimmerman said. “Also, the meals will provide the needed nutrition to do well during the school day since many students would rather spend their meal money on snacks rather than to purchase the school meals themselves.”
The key to the success of the program, however, is in receiving meal applications from everyone, even those who would not qualify in previous years due to their household income. The forms are crucial to establishing a baseline through which we can secure future funding.
