Teachers in IndustryJavier Lopez, Director of the University of Arizona Teachers in Industry program presented to the Governing Board on Monday, May 14, 2018. The program partners with businesses/industry to provide employment for teachers for the summer months while also providing industry level wages. During the program teachers gain "real world" industry/business experience which they in turn can use to improve their instructional skills and provide more relevance to students.  The newest partner in the program is Arizona Mining. The Vice President of Government and Community Affairs and NUSD board member is Greg Lucero.  Two of our current NUSD teachers from Wade Carpenter Middle School have been selected to participate in the program and will be assigned to Arizona Mining this summer. They are Jacobo Carrasco and Georgina Encinas.  We are very proud of the opportunity to participate in this program and we are excited and proud of our teachers.
