Gynna Rosas, a fourth-grade teacher at Robert M. Bracker Elementary School, was recognized at the March 26, 2018 governing board meeting, which was held at Bracker.

Rosas, who started in Nogales Unified School District 22 years ago as a teacher’s aide, is a product of NUSD schools, said Supt. Fernando Parra.

“Ms. Rosas is an outstanding educator with energy and passion,” Parra said, adding “She relates to everyone personally.”

Rosas spoke at the meeting and shared her gratitude for everyone she works with and for being recognized, saying that when a teacher is honored like this, it lets him or her know that they “are on the right track”.

The NUSD governing board, as part of its community outreach efforts, was holding its meeting at Bracker. Parent Robert Nicolaus, who spoke about why his two daughters are attending Bracker even though he lives in Rio Rico late in the meeting, said that Rosas was a very positive influence on his daughter who went from not wanting to go to school to not wanting to have school vacations because it meant she would not be going, and that Rosas was a major influence in that change.
